Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, as long as the installation requirements are met.

If you're installing a Flex, Front, or Fusion tap, you won't need an additional hole to be drilled in to your worktop as this will replace your existing mixer tap.

If there isn't enough space under the sink for your Quooker tank you can use a Quooker extension hose to install the tank up to two metres from the sink. You can order an extension hose as an optional extra at the same time you order your Quooker.

Yes, your Quooker will come with installation instructions.

The installation instructions can be found on our downloads page. In addition, we offer helpful instruction videos on a separate page that guide you step by step through the installation process.

Basic maintenance such as cleaning and descaling can be done yourself. For safety and reliability, full servicing should be carried out by Quooker or a qualified professional. For more information about maintenance, click here.

Provided the water is potable, with a pH between 6.5 and 9.5, no excess salt, the softener is maintained in line with the manufacturer's instructions, and there is good inward water pressure of 2 bar or more, your Quooker can be connected without issue.

A qualified plumber may assist with installation or minor maintenance, but full servicing is best carried out by a Quooker specialist.

A Quooker doesn't need any special maintenance, but if you live in a hard water area, there's a chance that limescale could build up in the end of the tap.

If water is flowing more slowly than usual, unscrew the nozzle and take out the ‘aerator’ from the tap end. Soak it in a small cup of white vinegar for one hour. Rinse off any limescale and put the tap back together.

If the water is still flowing slowly, there might be limescale inside the tank. If that’s the case, it will need to be cleaned.

Quooker can arrange this for you. You can book a routine maintenance here.

If you'd prefer, you can clean the tank yourself at home using our maintenance kit, which can be ordered here. Just enter your serial number to find the correct kit for your Quooker.

Every Quooker has a HiTAC filter inside the boiling water tank which improves the taste of the boiling water. This carbon water filter removes contaminants and impurities from your water. It absorbs chlorine, pesticides and organic pollutants, making water look, smell and taste fresher.

If you have a Cube or Cold Water Filter installed, this will provide filtration for drinking water too.

Note: the HiTAC filter isn’t a limescale filter.

At Quooker, sustainability has been high on our requirements list right from the first product concept. Our tanks are manufactured with vacuum insulation that ensures that the energy loss is minimal. This has always been the case, and will remain so in the future. The introduction of the label qualification by the EU confirms that Quooker boilers are sustainable.

The energy label that an appliance carries is determined by its energy efficiency. Due to energy loss in the generation of energy in power stations in 2015, an electrical appliance can achieve a maximum energy efficiency of 40%. The loss (non-beneficial use of the energy) that an appliance suffers, in Quooker's case the standby power consumption, reduces this efficiency further still.

Because a Quooker is fitted with high-vacuum insulation cladding, the energy loss, is only 10 watts. Due to this, the total energy efficiency for the Quooker COMBI tank is 36% and this results in an A label for the Quooker COMBI tank in the XXS category.

While circulation provides instant hot water, it can increase heat loss through the pipes. This can be minimised with insulated piping and smart pump control. Tucson pumps support programmable or demand-based operation to reduce run times, helping cut energy use without sacrificing comfort.

If you have a chrome, stainless steel, nickel or gold tap, use glass cleaner or water with a soft cloth. If you're using glass cleaner, spray a small amount on a damp cloth (not directly on the tap) and then wipe the tap. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth straight away.

If you have a patinated brass, rose copper or black tap, use warm water and a soft cloth only. Dry the tap immediately after cleaning.

You can find more information here.

A Quooker system consists of a small tank in the kitchen cupboard that is connected to the Quooker tap on the worktop.

Our patented vacuum insulation system holds water under pressure at the optimal temperature.

This lets you have 100°C boiling water whenever you need it, without the need to continually boil water, or bring water up to the boil for each use.

With a CUBE tank added underneath the sink you can also have chilled filtered and sparkling water, all from the same tap.

A Quooker clicks when it turns on and off, but otherwise is silent. The heating element heats the water to optimum temperature and the tank stores it. The water supply pressure ensures that the water does not ‘bubble’ and therefore the appliance is silent.

A Quooker tap does not require routine servicing. Maintenance is only needed if performance declines, for example due to limescale or reduced water flow. To ensure your tap is always kept in the best condition, clean the tap with only hot water and a soft cloth. We strongly advise against the use of other cleaning agents and scouring pads.

  • The Quooker PRO3 tank requires 50 cm of height space and is 15 cm in diameter.
  • The Quooker COMBI tank requires 58 cm of height space and is 20 cm in diameter.
  • The Quooker COMBI+ tank requires 53cm of height space and is 20 cm in diameter
  • The CUBE system requires a 500 mm in height, 223 mm in width and 340 mm in depth
  • If you have specified a Flex tap please note we require at least 500 mm deep x 200 mm wide space below the tap position under the worktop in the cupboard. This is required to allow the weight that operates the Flex hose to move freely up and down. If it becomes restricted it will not operate as intended.

  • Connection is to existing services that must be live and working, and we must be provided with clear details of where we can isolate either the water and or the power if required when we attend
  • Services required - 13 amp power socket (2 x 13 amp if a CUBE is specified) waste, hot and cold water supply. These services must be within 500mm of the intended install location below worktop height and fully accessible. If only one socket is available and a CUBE is required, a Powerswitch can be added
  • The minimum hot and cold water pressure required is 2 bar. COMBI tanks only require a cold water supply
  • Space for the tank and any accessories required

If the criteria above have not been met on the arrival of the engineer, a return visit may be required which will be charged to the ordering party at cost of £125 inc. VAT. You can read more about Quooker installation requirements by clicking here.

A Quooker COMBI consumes 515 kWh per year if warm water is used in accordance with the usage pattern defined in the regulations.

All Quooker products come with a two year warranty. This covers all manufacturing and material defects for two years after the installation date.

You'll receive an installation guide that includes an overview in the box of your new Quooker.

More detailed information about how to operate a Quooker can be found here.

In order to verify the calculations conducted, a practical test is conducted on the energy efficiency of the Quooker COMBI tank. The report with the detailed results from this test, conducted in accordance with the standard ‘NEN-EN 50440 Efficiency of domestic electrical storage water heaters and testing methods’, can be requested from Quooker.

The Quooker COMBI tank is a product that delivers hot water as well as boiling water. Because the COMBI tank complies with these requirements, it falls into the category “boilers” and it is mandatory to label it.

The energy label an appliance carries depends on its energy efficiency. Due to the energy loss in the generation of energy in power stations in 2015, an electrical appliance can achieve a maximum energy efficiency of 40%. The energy loss (non-beneficial use of the energy) that an appliance suffers, in Quooker’s case the standby power consumption, reduces this efficiency still further. Because a Quooker COMBI reservoir is fitted with high-vacuum insulation cladding, the energy loss is only 10 watts. Due to this, the total energy efficiency for the Quooker COMBI tank is 36%, resulting in an A label for the Quooker COMBI tank in the XXS category.
